| On set : Page one - In keeping with the subject matter of the film , the images in this section are extreme and distressing simulations of the trauma of genocide . Sensitive visitors take care . | |||||||||||||||||||
| Our first day onset with most of the pieces at once ,simulating the dead being collected by prisoners at gunpoint in the style of garbage men . | |||||||||||||||||||

The simulations are laid out for wardrobe and detailing.The job entire is an excersise in discretion and sensitivity, providing elements to the production with honest realism and keeping the hideous imagery from the Rwandan People. On this day , we found a grassy area off a parking lot with a giant hedge along the other side . Fairly private,and roomy enough to work .

| Wardrobe came through in fine style and added the perfect final elements , offering each of the simulations identity and individualtiy | |||||||||||||||||||

| After all it took to get the figures to this point , we are very happy to see the postures and positions chosen at the earliest casting stages were correct and work better than anticipated. | |||||||||||||||||||

| The images on their own conjour the horror of death squads featured in Time and Newsweek from the 70's and 80's ...the peices are random and natural enough to look genuine . | |||||||||||||||||||

| Working on a good case of sunstroke,we lay tarp over the morbid truck dressed for set . The work must travel through town and past people who lived through the real thing . The Location on this day is outside and only a few blocks away. We are happy with the dressing at this point and eagre to see it rolled into place on set .We are ahead of the shooting schedule , readying the piece before the set started calling for it ... | |||||||||||||||||||

| The results wouldn't have worked nearly as well as they did on the day without the total participation of the props crew jumping up into the truck and posing each piece to directions called out, as the form was lobbed into the bed of the truck . | |||||||||||||||||||
